Resin

Material Overview:
Resin systems serve as the matrix phase in SMC and BMC composites, binding glass fiber reinforcements and fillers into high-performance molded components. Different thermosetting resin systems offer distinct advantages in mechanical performance, chemical resistance, flame retardancy, thermal stability, and environmental durability, allowing material selection to be tailored to specific application requirements.

We provide resin systems suitable for SMC and BMC processing, covering a wide range of industrial and structural applications.

(1) Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR)

  • Base resin system for standard SMC and BMC formulations
  • Balanced mechanical strength and processing performance
  • Good compatibility with fillers and glass fiber reinforcements
  • Widely used in sanitary ware, automotive, electrical, and construction parts

(2) Vinyl Ester Resin

  • Epoxy-modified resin system with enhanced performance
  • Superior chemical and corrosion resistance
  • Higher toughness and fatigue resistance than polyester systems
  • Used in corrosion-resistant, structural, and high-durability applications

(3) Epoxy Resin

  • High-performance thermosetting resin for demanding applications
  • Excellent mechanical strength and adhesion properties
  • Low curing shrinkage with good dimensional stability
  • Suitable for electrical, structural, and specialty SMC/BMC components

(4) Phenolic Resin

  • Inherently flame-retardant thermosetting resin system
  • Low smoke and low toxicity during combustion
  • Excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability
  • Used in rail transit, electrical insulation, and fire-safety–critical applications
